[Book Release] Carving the Wheel: Crafting Your Personal Wheel of the Year

I’ve published a workbook / perpetual calendar for witches and spiritual folk! It’s available in [paperback] as an 8.5 x 11 inch workbook with cream paper – because I wanted it to be aesthetically pleasing. (I originally tried to publish it on December 31st, but I forgot about the review period… oops?)

Here’s a peek inside:

This 210 page workbook breaks down into three main sections:

[1] The first portion are a series of topic-based questions and journaling pages. These are used to work you through your own thought processes and really examine what you want to treat as sacred throughout the year. Many of us (at least in the United States) grow up with a standard set of federal holidays, and then we often use the same basic Wheel of the Year to mark the witchy holidays readily available to us. If that works for you, great! But if you want to reflect on the meanings behind both the secular and spiritual dates found on your calendar, this is the place to do it.

[2] The second section is a draft calendar to get your creative (and research-inclined) juices flowing. Here you’ll find each month with a collection of common themes and holidays, ranging from serious to absurd. This is where you can highlight, cross out, and scribble in the ideas and dates you find most interesting for your personal path. For example, I want to pull in days celebrating creativity and writing as part of my focus, so I would do some research on events like NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) to determine if they fit what I was looking for.

[3] The final piece is a perpetual calendar. It’s not the most glorious version out there, because I’m not artist. Instead, this is a clean and clear section covering all 366 days of the year. Each month includes sections for themes, floating holidays that will need to be checked each year, birthdays, and a section at the end for notes on upcoming events (especially if they require planning!). The idea is to finalize your personal Wheel of the Year here, and then you can transfer it to your planner each year as needed.

Overall, I wrote the workbook I needed. I’ve been struggling to find magic in the mundane for a few years now, between moving from Texas to the Pacific Northwest and then the pandemic tossing everything into chaos. This book is my attempt to help carve out some spiritual strength where I find myself lacking. If it happens to help others in the process, even better!
