A rose is a rose,
but its petals will dry.
A princess ain’t perfect;
she laughs and she cries.
The happy white castle
is a fortress of stone.
The fairy tales differ
from the truths that are known.
So why do we bother
to dare? To have dreams?
Quite often we realize
life’s more than it seems.
For happily ever after
all we must do is
wake up each day
and greet dawn anew.
